Motorola Razr 70 Series: Three New Foldables With Price Hikes

Motorola refreshed its flip phone lineup with three new Razr models for 2026. The Razr 70 Ultra leads the pack with an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Elite processor and a 7-inch 165Hz LTPO display reaching 5,000 nits peak brightness. The device packs a 5,000mAh battery with 68W wired charging, though it carries a $1,500 price tag in the US.

The Razr 70+ represents a modest upgrade over last year's model, featuring a larger 4,500mAh battery compared to the previous 4,000mAh unit. It retains the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset and 45W charging, but swaps the telephoto lens for a 50MP ultra-wide camera. At $1,100, it's $100 more expensive than its predecessor.

The base Razr 70 introduces a MediaTek Dimensity 7450X processor, representing the only chipset change across the trio. Battery capacity increases to 4,800mAh while the ultra-wide camera jumps from 13MP to 50MP. Priced at $800, it's also $100 more than last year's model, making the incremental upgrades harder to justify for budget-conscious buyers.

These price increases across all three models raise questions about Motorola's strategy in the competitive foldable market, especially when the core innovations remain evolutionary rather than revolutionary.
