Motorola Razr 70 Review: Modest Updates Can't Justify High Price

Motorola refreshed its clamshell foldable lineup with the Razr 70, also called Razr 2026 in the US market. The update brings incremental improvements rather than meaningful upgrades, yet carries premium pricing that puts it between $800 and $870 depending on region. This creates a challenging value proposition when discounted 2025 models remain available.

Build quality sees modest gains with a titanium hinge replacing last year's stainless steel, plus IP48 water resistance and MIL-STD-810H compliance. The MediaTek Dimensity 7450 X powers the device, though it's essentially identical to its predecessor. Storage maxes out at 256GB with just 8GB RAM across all variants, eliminating both higher-capacity and higher-RAM options from the previous generation.

The ultrawide camera jumps to 50MP from 13MP, but loses autofocus capability. Motorola squeezed a slightly larger 4,800mAh battery into unchanged dimensions, a welcome but minor improvement. Packaging follows eco-friendly trends with recyclable materials and no bundled charger in European markets.

Despite these refinements, the Razr 70 struggles to justify its price tag against existing inventory and competitive foldables. The modest spec bump feels underwhelming for a flagship-class device asking $800.
