Meta has brought Neural Handwriting to its Ray-Ban Display smart glasses, allowing users to type messages by tracing letters in the air. The feature works across Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and message notifications, transforming how people interact with wearable tech while wearing these premium glasses.

The update requires the bundled Neural Band accessory that recognizes finger movements on any surface. Beyond typing, update 125 adds display recording, expanded maps with walking directions in major cities, WhatsApp group video calls with captions, and improved Instagram/Facebook navigation—all for the $800 glasses.

Third-party developers can now create apps for these smart glasses, with community members already building tools like YouTube players, aviation aids, and grocery lists. This opens new possibilities for the wearable platform beyond Meta's initial vision, potentially transforming how we interact with digital information in our daily lives.
