Apple’s iPhone Duo marks its entry into the foldable market, priced at $1,999 in the US, while the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max start at $1,199 and $1,299 respectively. The Duo offers a unique wide foldable design with a 7.6” 4:3 inner display (175cm² surface area), stylus support, and no camera punch hole—ideal for multitasking like an iPad mini in your pocket. However, it’s chunkier at 11.3mm thick and 254g, making one-handed use difficult.

In contrast, the iPhone 18 Pro Max is slimmer (8.8mm, 249g) and lighter, with superior camera capabilities including a variable aperture (f/1.4-f/4.0) and a dedicated 48MP 4x/100mm telephoto lens, absent in the Duo which relies on in-sensor zoom. All three share the same 48MP ultra-wide camera. While the Duo enables main-camera selfies when unfolded, the Pro models deliver better photography and ergonomics.

For most users, the iPhone 18 Pro series remains the practical choice, though the Duo appeals to those prioritizing foldable innovation and screen real estate.
