Meta is testing a new Instagram Plus subscription service in the Philippines, Mexico, and Japan, offering exclusive story features for a monthly fee. The service costs PHP 65, MXN 39, and JPY 319 respectively, translating to about $2 in Mexico and Japan, and $1 in the Philippines.

The subscription includes features like multiple story audiences, story rewatch insights, search functionality for story viewers, and the ability to extend story expiration by 24 hours. Users can also send super hearts to stories and spotlight their content. The first month is free where available.

This marks Meta's latest attempt to monetize Instagram through premium features, following other subscription experiments across its platforms. The company hasn't announced plans to expand the service beyond these three test markets or revealed whether the feature set might change before a wider rollout.
