Insta360 has unveiled the Luna, a new vlogging camera designed to challenge DJI's popular Osmo Pocket lineup. The Luna features dual cameras including a telephoto lens, making it potentially the first vlogging camera with such capabilities if launched before DJI's upcoming Osmo Pocket 4 Pro. This move comes as vivo also prepares its own entry into the compact vlogging camera market.

The Luna's telephoto camera sets it apart from competitors, offering zoom functionality that DJI's current models lack. Insta360 founder JK Liu has promised the Luna will bring "many unique innovations" to the market, emphasizing it won't simply be "another Pocket." The company has confirmed the Luna will launch before the end of June 2026, positioning it strategically ahead of DJI's next-generation release.

This competition reflects the growing demand for portable vlogging solutions, with multiple manufacturers racing to capture market share. Insta360's entry with telephoto capabilities could force DJI to accelerate its development timeline or add similar features to maintain its dominance in the compact vlogging camera segment.
