Huawei has confirmed that the Mate XT2, its next tri-fold smartphone, will launch next month. According to recent rumors, the upcoming device could feature a different folding mechanism compared to the original Mate XT. The Huawei Mate XT2 will be unveiled in China on September 7, the company confirmed in a Weibo post.

Huawei will also showcase its recently announced Harmony OS 7 at the event. While Huawei has yet to reveal any other details, the Mate XT2 is rumored to feature an inward-folding design. The foldable could offer both a cover display and a large internal flexible display.

A large circular camera module is said to be placed on the center panel. The tri-fold smartphone is said to be powered by a Kirin 9050 Pro chipset and feature a triple rear camera setup. It is tipped to pack a battery with a capacity of 6,000m Ah or higher.

Meanwhile, tipster Digital Chat Station has claimed that Huawei will also reveal more details about the recently announced Pura X View and the Kirin 9030 S chipset.
