Honor Watch 6 Plus Motorcycle Edition Launches in China

Honor has introduced a Motorcycle Edition of its Watch 6 Plus, targeting bike and racing enthusiasts through a collaboration with Zhang Xue, a Chinese professional racer and founder of the ZXMOTO brand. The special edition retains identical specifications to the standard model unveiled in May but adds design cues and software features tailored for motorcyclists.

The watch includes a custom boot animation displaying the ZXMOTO logo, an overspeed warning system designed to promote safer riding, and engineered engine sound effects meant to simulate a racetrack experience. An exclusive Motorcycle Sport Mode rounds out the package, though Honor has not detailed how its metrics differ from existing workout profiles.

Priced at CNY1,599 (approximately $220), the device is available for pre-order exclusively through Honor's Chinese website with shipping scheduled to begin July 22. No global release date has been announced.

This limited-edition strategy mirrors a growing trend of brands creating hyper-niche wearables for specific subcultures. While the hardware remains unchanged, the software overlays suggest Honor is testing whether lifestyle-specific interfaces can drive incremental sales without new R&D investment. For consumers outside China, the move signals that region-exclusive variants may become more common as the smartwatch market saturates.
