At MWC 2026, Honor unveiled its Blade Battery technology designed specifically for future foldable devices. The company demonstrated a silicon-carbon battery with 32% silicon content, achieving an energy density exceeding 900Wh/L. This breakthrough enables batteries with 7,000mAh capacity and beyond while maintaining the ultra-thin profiles required for foldable smartphones.

The Blade Battery builds on Honor's existing partnership with ATL, which powers the Magic V6 foldable. That device already features a 6,660mAh battery using fifth-generation Silicon-Carbon material with 25% silicon content - the highest in the industry according to Honor. The Magic V6 achieves an impressive 4.0mm unfolded thickness and 8.8mm folded thickness, demonstrating how advanced battery technology enables thinner foldable designs.

Honor's Blade Battery represents a significant leap forward for foldable device power management. The company even demonstrated the battery's durability by having Guinness World Record card thrower Rick Smith Jr. slice produce with it, proving its structural integrity. As foldable devices become mainstream, battery technology like this will be crucial for delivering all-day battery life without compromising on the sleek, portable designs that make foldables appealing to consumers.
