Samsung reports that combined Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra sales in Europe are 50% higher than the Galaxy Z Fold7's figures from last year. This surge follows 20% higher pre-orders for the 2026 lineup — including the Z Flip8 — compared to the previous generation. Notably, the number of former Z Flip owners upgrading to the Z Fold8 is three times higher than those who moved to the Z Fold7. In the US, combined Z Fold8 and Ultra sales are 30% higher year-over-year, accounting for 80% of all Galaxy Z series purchases.

The Z Flip8 continues to serve as an entry point, with 20% of European buyers and 30% of US buyers switching from competing brands. Additionally, Samsung saw a 60% increase in iPhone users purchasing a Galaxy Z8 device compared to the Z7 series. These results arrive just as Apple prepares to unveil its first foldable, setting up a pivotal competitive moment.
