EarFun Clip 2 Review: Better Fit, Sound, and Battery

EarFun drops the Clip 2, a polished update to its first‑generation open‑ear earbuds. The new pair lengthens the bridge, giving the units more room and a softer fit that reduces ear pinching. Both earbuds feature a single physical button for playback, while the companion app lets users re‑map or disable controls. Identifying left from right, however, remains a challenge because the units look identical.

Design changes go beyond the bridge. The Clip 2 adopts a squared, more flexible connector that stays elastic after repeated use, while the IP55 rating guarantees dust and water resistance. Comfort remains solid: the earbuds are lightweight, apply low clamping pressure, and the open‑ear style keeps the wearer aware of surroundings. Yet the minimalist aesthetic may feel bland to style‑savvy users.

Audio improves with 12 mm dynamic drivers, sharper upper‑mid and treble, and a wider soundstage than the original Clip. Volume tolerance rises to 70 % before becoming thin, but EarFun still limits the claim of 11 hours battery life; real tests yielded 7 h 48 min with LDAC off. Noise‑reduction microphones perform well, yet the earbuds remain best suited for casual, on‑the‑go listening.
