Disney+ is launching Verts, a new TikTok-like vertical video feed that lets users swipe through scenes from movies and shows. The feature, which appears as a new icon in the navigation bar, offers a dynamic stream of content that users can add to their Watchlist or start playing immediately. Disney calls this "the first phase" of bringing vertical video to its streaming platform.

This move comes as streaming services compete for attention in an increasingly crowded market. Disney+ says early experiments with Verts have driven additional engagement, crediting an advanced algorithm that personalizes recommendations for each user. The company positions Verts as "a whole new way to discover stories" that makes finding content faster and more intuitive.

The feature will evolve over time to include creator content and other storytelling formats. By adopting a familiar vertical scrolling interface, Disney+ aims to capture the casual browsing behavior that has made TikTok so successful while keeping users within its own content ecosystem.
