Apple is planning to release the Home Hub as early as October and as late as early next year, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports. The device’s main selling point will be the new Siri AI, positioning it as a next‑generation smart speaker for the home.

The Home Hub resembles a Home Pod but sports a 7‑inch display and will run a brand‑new OS built on tv OS, blending elements of tv OS, watch OS, and i OS. It will feature a grid of icons, widgets, and apps, along with customizable clock faces.

Apple expects users to own multiple units placed throughout the house, available in tabletop and wall‑mounted versions. The Hub will include built‑in cameras and facial recognition, scaling UI elements as you approach or move away. It supports Face Time, home‑security monitoring, and an intercom for multi‑unit households.

Future iterations may feature a 9‑inch display and a robotic arm that can reposition the screen, enhancing Face Time. Apple is also developing an in‑home security camera to rival Amazon's Ring, a new Apple TV set‑top box, and an upgraded Home Pod mini, all slated for release this fall.
