Apple emerged as the sole winner in the PC market during the second quarter, reporting a 10.1% increase in Mac shipments to 6.7 million units. This growth propelled Apple's market share to 9.9%, up from 8.5% in the same quarter last year. Most major Windows PC manufacturers experienced declines, attributed in part to rising RAM and SSD prices.

Lenovo, the market leader, saw its shipments fall to 16.6 million units, resulting in a market share of 24.4%. HP and Dell also reported reduced shipments, with HP holding a 19.1% market share and Dell shipping 9.3 million devices. Asus managed negligible growth but still increased its market share to 7.4% as the overall market contracted.

The total PC market declined by 4.9%, with 68.2 million units shipped in Q2. IDC forecasts a slowdown in growth for the latter half of 2026 and anticipates further price hikes into 2027. Apple's recent price increase, implemented at the close of Q2, will be a factor to watch in future sales figures, alongside the performance of models like the Mac Book Neo.
