Verizon will charge $10 a month for Apple's new iPhone Handoff feature on iOS 27, the carrier announced. The service, already available on T-Mobile for $5 a month, allows users to share an eSIM number between two iPhones. Both devices must run iOS 27 and share the same Apple ID.
While the number cannot be active on both phones simultaneously, users can switch primary devices anytime. Calls, messages, Find My, and iCloud backups automatically transfer to the active iPhone. To set up Handoff, navigate to Settings > Cellular > Set up Cellular or Add eSIM, then select iPhone > Continue > Transfer.
Switching devices is seamless—simply unlock the desired iPhone. Apple recommends using passcodes to maintain control over which device is active.
