Tesla has unveiled its upcoming Cybercab design, featuring an integrated SpaceX Starlink V5 dish. This integration offers high-speed internet connectivity from space, intended for the future of autonomous vehicles.

The Starlink V5 dish, announced last week, is smaller and more energy-efficient than previous models, providing speeds of 375+ Mbps. While Starlink describes the V5 for "home internet" use, its inclusion in the Cybercab suggests enhanced connectivity options for the autonomous taxi fleet.

This setup provides redundant internet access alongside existing 5G LTE capabilities. Potential benefits include inter-vehicle communication, improved navigation, and remote support, reducing reliance on cellular signals. The move also represents a business synergy between Tesla and SpaceX. The exact launch date for the new Cybercabs remains unannounced, with Tesla's current autonomous fleet being relatively small, reportedly 39 unsupervised vehicles.
