Street Fighter Movie Trailer Drops: Campy Action and Star-Studded Cast

The first full trailer for the upcoming Street Fighter movie delivers exactly what fans expect: over-the-top fighting, cheesy dialogue, and plenty of video game references. The nearly three-minute preview showcases iconic moments like Ken demolishing a car in a nod to the classic Street Fighter II bonus stages, Ryu charging up his signature Hadoken fireball, and even a cheeky nod to Chun-Li's famously powerful thighs. The cast looks remarkably faithful to their game counterparts, with actors embracing the campy aesthetic.

Directed by Kitao Sakurai, known for Bad Trip and The Eric Andre Show, the film follows a familiar tournament structure with Chun-Li assembling fighters worldwide like a Nick Fury figure. The plot centers on Ken and Ryu's rivalry, M. Bison's criminal machinations, and plenty of punching punctuated by snarky asides. The October 16 theatrical release promises a gleefully absurd adaptation that leans into the franchise's inherent silliness.

Noah Centineo and Andrew Koji headline as Ken and Ryu, while the supporting cast includes Jason Momoa as Blanka and Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson as Balrog. Additional stars like David Dastmalchian, Cody Rhodes, and Orville Peck round out the ensemble. This marks the third live-action attempt at bringing the fighting game to the big screen, following the 1994 cult classic featuring Raul Julia's memorable M. Bison and the poorly received 2009 Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
