ElevenLabs has secured rights to recreate the late Marvel legend's voice and image through a partnership with Stan Lee Universe. The comic book icon joins Judy Garland, Michael Caine, and other celebrities on the company's Iconic Marketplace, making his distinctive voice available for commercial licensing across various AI applications.

Lee's voice powers the ElevenReader app, launched in 2024, which converts uploaded text files into audio narration. Users receive 10 free hours monthly, with unlimited access priced at $8.25 per month. The platform also introduces the Stan Lee Book Club, featuring public domain titles like June's Treasure Island, allowing fans to hear classic literature read in his unmistakable cadence.

His digital likeness extends to ElevenCreative's AI image generator, enabling comic-inspired templates for non-commercial use. While the technology opens possibilities for virtual cameos in future projects, ElevenLabs emphasizes honoring Lee's legacy of connecting directly with audiences. The company has also added superhero-themed audio filters to its Eleven Music service.

This represents the latest high-profile case of posthumous digital recreation, raising ongoing questions about consent and commercial use of deceased celebrities' personas. Stan Lee's estate positions this as a continuation of his fan-first philosophy, though the broader industry debates around AI rights management continue.
