Spotify has launched SongDNA, a new feature that reveals the creative DNA behind tracks you're listening to. Available through the Now Playing view, SongDNA shows artists, writers, producers, and collaborators involved in creating each song. The feature also displays samples, interpolations, and covers that connect to the track's sound.

This rollout aims to make music discovery more transparent by letting users tap on contributor icons to explore their profiles and other works. Spotify is giving artist and label teams control over managing the information displayed, suggesting the feature will expand to more tracks over time. Jacqueline Ankner, Spotify's Head of Songwriter & Publisher Partnerships, described SongDNA as making "a song's creative lineage more transparent" so fans can explore the people and influences behind their favorite music.

Currently in beta, SongDNA is rolling out to paying iOS and Android users worldwide, with broader availability to Premium subscribers planned throughout April. This tool represents Spotify's latest effort to deepen music engagement by connecting fans with the full creative ecosystem behind each track.
