Spotify is raising subscription prices by $1 to $2 starting in February, mirroring its 2024 increase. Subscribers in the US, Estonia, and Latvia will receive email notifications about the new rates. The company states the adjustment reflects the value it delivers and supports artists.

The streaming giant reported paying $10 billion to rights-holders in 2024, yet faces artist criticism. Last year, several Grammy-nominated songwriters boycotted a Spotify-hosted awards event, protesting perceived royalty declines. This tension persists as the platform expands its paid user base.

Individual plans will rise to $13 monthly, with Duo at $19 and Family at $22. Students face a $7 charge. These changes follow Spotify's recent controversy over ICE recruitment ads, which the company confirmed have now ended. The move tests subscriber loyalty amid rising costs.
