Snap's AR Specs Debut September 16

Snap will host an event on September 16 at 7 PM ET in Los Angeles to provide an in-depth look at its new augmented reality glasses, Specs. The glasses, priced at $2,195, are set to become available to the public soon, with pre-orders already open and shipping expected this fall in the US, UK, and France.

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel is slated to demonstrate how Specs integrate AI assistance, work tools, entertainment, and shared experiences into the user's surroundings. The glasses will come in two sizes (47mm and 52mm) and boast a battery life of up to four hours of mixed use. They feature a built-in browser and AI capabilities powered by partners OpenAI and Google.

Specs will offer hundreds of AR Lenses, including games. The hardware includes two Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, one dedicated to computer vision and the other to AR applications, housed within the glasses' arms.
