Konami, Annapurna Interactive, and developer Screen Burn Interactive have unveiled Silent Hill: Townfall, the latest entry in the psychological horror series. Set on a foggy island town called St. Amelia, the game follows Simon Ordell, who mysteriously wakes up in the water off the coast. The first-person perspective marks a departure from traditional Silent Hill gameplay.

Introduced during Sony's State of Play, the gameplay trailer shows Simon hiding from monsters, examining a portable television, and wielding a fire axe while navigating the empty island community. The coastal setting represents another geographical shift for the franchise, following the Japanese countryside backdrop of Silent Hill f. Screen Burn Interactive, formerly known as No Code, brings their experience from psychological horror titles like Observation and Stories Untold to this new installment.

Originally announced in 2022 alongside Silent Hill f and the Silent Hill 2 remake, Townfall is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 in 2026. Konami plans to share additional gameplay details and story information during an upcoming Silent Hill Transmission presentation. The foggy island setting continues the series' signature atmosphere while introducing fresh narrative possibilities for the psychological horror franchise.
