Sennheiser is launching the Momentum 5 Wireless on June 16 for $400, a $50 hike over the Momentum 4. Nearly four years after that model debuted, the fifth generation keeps a similar design but packs major internal changes. New features include upgraded active noise cancellation, Hi-Res Audio certification, and support for Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless.

The headphones use the same 42mm transducers as the Momentum 4, inspired by Sennheiser's HD 600 series, but add an 8-band EQ through the Smart Control Plus app. Sennheiser is planning day-one DSP updates that will add Dolby Atmos with head tracking, plus future Bluetooth 6.0 support via firmware. Battery life drops to 57 hours, three hours less than the Momentum 4's 60-hour rating.

ANC improvements come from four microphones per ear cup, promising up to three times more effective voice cancellation. Call quality should also improve with the added mics. Quick charge gives three hours of playback in five minutes, and the 700mAh battery is user-replaceable. The Momentum 5 ships in black, white, and blue.
