Screenbound 5D Platformer Launches September 10

Screenbound, the indie “5D platformer” from Crescent Moon Games, Radical Forge and Digital Pajamas, will ship on September 10 across Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox PC. Players pick up a Game Boy‑style Qboy in a mother’s garage, flip the switch and the world splits, forcing simultaneous control of a 2D handheld title and a 3D avatar.

Each frame shows objects that may exist on only one plane, so players must monitor both perspectives to dodge enemies, navigate platforms and solve puzzles. The first Qboy cartridge plays as a side‑scrolling platformer; a second cartridge revealed at Day of the Devs will shift to a Zelda‑style 2D adventure. A free Steam demo lets fans test the dual‑reality mechanic now.

By blending retro handheld aesthetics with modern 3D navigation, Screenbound aims to carve a niche in a crowded indie market where novelty drives sales. Its cross‑platform launch positions it for broad exposure, and early hands‑on impressions suggest the visual juggling act could become a talking point among streamers. Players will need sharp peripheral vision to succeed. The game arrives ready to challenge perception and coordination.
