Samsung Music Studio 7 review: premium sound and Atmos at $500

Samsung revived its home‑audio lineup with the Music Studio 7, a $500 Wi‑Fi speaker unveiled at CES. Designed with French artist Erwan Bouroullec, the unit looks more like a sculpture than a box, featuring solid panels pierced by a dot pattern and a concave driver circle with an LED status ring. Five drivers deliver a 3.1.1 layout, including an up‑firing channel for true Dolby Atmos.

The speaker packs a suite of Samsung audio tech: Space Fit Sound Pro calibration, Adaptive Sound, AI Dynamic Bass Control, Active Voice Amplifier, and high‑resolution support up to 24‑bit/96 kHz. HDMI eARC and optical inputs let it replace a soundbar, while the Sound app handles Wi‑Fi pairing, room tuning, EQ tweaks and Group Play for up to ten Samsung speakers.

Used alone, the Studio 7 offers clear mids and a spacious soundstage, though its AI‑Adaptive mode can under‑represent bass on heavy metal or electronic tracks. Paired as a stereo set, the two units rival premium Atmos soundbars, delivering ample low end and precise dialogue for movies and sports. For Samsung TV owners, the HDMI eARC link unlocks full‑featured home‑theater performance today.
