LG Sound Suite: Flexible Home Audio Review

LG's Sound Suite brings Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology to home theater, allowing speakers to be placed anywhere without sacrificing audio performance. The system includes the H7 soundbar ($1,000), W7 subwoofer ($600), and M5/M7 speakers ($250/$400). This modular approach offers flexibility but requires the H7 or a compatible LG TV as the primary device.

Setup proved challenging with connectivity issues requiring multiple reboots. The calibration process involves audible noise from each speaker, which could be disruptive. Despite these frustrations, the system delivered immersive audio for movies and music. The H7 soundbar with two M7 speakers created the most enveloping experience, though rear speakers weren't always beneficial for sports.

Samsung's Q990 series offers similar performance at $2,000, while TCL's Z100 speakers are the only other FlexConnect option. LG's Sound Suite provides premium audio quality for those with compatible TVs, but the high price point and software quirks may deter some buyers. The system stands out for its flexibility and immersive sound, making it ideal for LG TV owners seeking an upgrade.
