Mobile World Congress 2026 kicked off in Barcelona with a wave of announcements from major tech players. Honor unveiled its Robot Phone featuring a 200-megapixel camera on a 4-degrees-of-freedom gimbal, along with the Magic V6 foldable and MagicPad 4 tablet. The company also showcased a humanoid robot designed for industrial and domestic use.

Xiaomi partnered with Leica to launch the Leitzphone by Xiaomi, a photography-focused device priced at €1,999 with a 1-inch sensor and mechanical zoom ring. The global version of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra also debuted, starting at £1,299 with a 6.9-inch 120Hz display. Xiaomi introduced two new tablets, the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro, both measuring just 5.75mm thick, plus new accessories including a magnetic power bank and item tracker.

Tecno presented a modular smartphone concept that can be as thin as 4.9mm with interchangeable camera and gaming modules. The concept uses magnetic connections for easy customization. As MWC continues through March 5, more hands-on coverage and product details are expected from the show floor, with Engadget's Mat Smith providing ongoing updates from Barcelona.
