Konami announced the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 will launch on August 27, featuring 2008's Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, the HD remaster of 2010's Peace Walker, and bonus content including Metal Gear: Ghost Babel from 2000. This smaller selection than Vol. 1 marks a significant moment for the franchise.

The bundle represents a milestone as MGS4 will be playable on platforms beyond the original PlayStation 3 for the first time. The game's two-decade exclusivity stemmed from its extensive use of the PS3's unique Cell architecture, making porting to modern x86-based systems difficult and expensive for Konami.

PC emulation has allowed some players to experience MGS4 recently, but required powerful hardware not accessible to all. The collection will arrive on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch, and the newly announced Nintendo Switch 2, bringing Solid Snake's conclusion to a wider audience.
