Square Enix surprised fans during Tuesday's Nintendo Direct with a new Kingdom Hearts IV trailer, revealing the game will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 day one alongside PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. The sequel has been in development for over four years since its initial reveal, with no concrete release date yet.

The trailer showcases Sora wielding his Keyblade through the modern metropolis of Quadratum, featuring high-flying combat expected in the series. An Organization 13 member narrates the scene, describing light and darkness arriving in the world "only after we defined it." Players will see both new characters and familiar faces like Goofy and Donald Duck.

Alongside the game announcement, Square Enix revealed the Kingdom Hearts Collection will launch on October 8 across all platforms. The bundle includes multiple versions of the first three mainline games, allowing fans to catch up before the sequel arrives. No specific release date for Kingdom Hearts IV has been confirmed.
