Mercedes-Benz rolled out the VLE, a 2028 electric Grand Limousine that reshapes the minivan archetype. At 216 inches long with a 49‑inch interior height, it seats up to eight but shines with a two‑seat captain’s chair in the second row. Passengers enjoy recline, massage functions and a 31.3‑inch ultrawide 8K display that turns the cabin into a living room.

Power comes from either a front‑wheel‑drive VLE 300 with 272 hp or the all‑wheel‑drive VLE 400 delivering 416 hp. Both variants share a 115 kWh usable battery, promising roughly 350 miles EPA range and 300 kW fast charging that adds 200 miles in 15 minutes. A 22‑speaker Burmester system with Dolby Atmos rounds out a premium entertainment suite.

Despite lacking full autonomy, the VLE targets airport shuttles and high‑end family transport, slated for a U.S. debut in late 2027 with a premium price tag. Its blend of van practicality and limousine luxury could force rivals to rethink how they design spacious EVs.
