Mercedes-AMG has unveiled its most powerful vehicle ever, the GT 4-Door Coupé, packing 1,153 hp in its GT63 variant. This all-electric performance sedan accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.0 seconds, edging out Porsche's 940 hp Taycan Turbo S by 0.3 seconds. Built on the new 800-volt AMG.EA platform, the four-door features three ultra-compact axial-flux motors that weigh just 309 pounds combined.

The GT63 produces 1,153 hp and 1,475 lb-ft of torque, while the GT55 delivers 805 hp. Power comes from a 106kWh battery using long cylindrical cells with 298Wh/kg energy density, developed with Mercedes' Formula 1 program. The 600 kW charging capability replenishes 10 to 80 percent capacity in just 11 minutes, with an estimated 370 to 470 mile range on Europe's WLTP cycle.

Design-wise, the GT 4-Door sports a 0.22 drag coefficient with bulging fenders and a panoramic glass roof. The interior features bolstered seats, a large central screen, and seven drive modes. The 2027 Mercedes-AMG GT55 arrives late this year, with the GT63 following in 2027. Expect pricing to mirror the Taycan Turbo S, likely exceeding $200,000, given its superior performance credentials.
