Lego will release a new 1,252‑piece set on August 1 for $140 that lets fans build a miniature version of the Hubble Space Telescope. The kit opens to reveal removable panels that expose replica gyroscopes, mirrors, antennas, and solar arrays, allowing builders to peer inside the observatory.

The finished model stands 12.5 inches tall, 15 inches long and 15 inches wide, and comes with a display stand featuring an informational plaque and an astronaut minifigure to illustrate scale. Builders can adjust the antennae and solar panels, giving the set a functional touch beyond static display.

This is Lego’s second Hubble‑themed release; the 2021 Space Shuttle Discovery set previously included the telescope as a payload. The original Hubble, launched in 1990, is projected to deorbit in the mid‑2030s, while the plastic set will outlast its real‑world counterpart.

Consumers gain a tangible way to celebrate a historic space instrument, and the move underscores Lego’s strategy of tying popular science to its product lines, expanding the brand’s appeal to STEM‑interested families and collectors alike.
