Hover Air’s new Versa blends a 3‑axis gimbal camera with an autonomous drone, aiming at vloggers, travel creators and filmmakers who need both handheld and aerial footage. The device promises instant transition from hand‑held to hover in seconds, and positions itself as a rival to DJI, especially after recent U.S. bans on DJI gear.

In handheld mode, the Versa resembles the DJI Osmo Pocket 4 or Insta360 Luna, offering built‑in stabilization, a screen, controls, a record button and joystick. Hover Air touts a new image processor for superior dynamic range and low‑light performance, plus AI framing and smooth gimbal‑stabilized video.

To launch, users slide a back plate onto the gimbal, snap it onto the drone carrier, unfold the wings and the camera takes off from the palm. No pilot skills, no controller—just a ‘follow‑me’ mode that tracks the user and a ‘3D Worlds’ photo mode that performs a 360‑degree flight pattern to reconstruct 3‑D images. The system will feature more than 10 intelligent flight modes designed for social‑media holics.
