Hinge has launched Friend's Take, a new feature letting users add testimonials to their profiles from friends, family, or colleagues. Available globally except India, the feature allows non-members to contribute written blurbs, photos, or video and voice messages.

Users generate a shareable link from the Edit Profile tab. Contributors choose a prompt about the Hinge user; the link expires after three days or once 10 people have responded. The profile owner can then select up to three responses to display and swap them out anytime.

Hinge says 71 percent of its users want profile help, but only 46 percent actually ask for it. Testimonials from loved ones may make profiles seem more authentic, though they'll inevitably be positive. The author notes they'd prefer hearing from a match's exes instead.
