HBO Max has finally launched in the UK and Ireland after a long wait, marking the streaming service's completion of its European expansion. The platform arrived on March 26 with a robust content library including Oscar-winners One Battle After Another and Sinners, alongside Max Originals like The Pitt. Fans of major franchises can also access The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter collections, both celebrating their 25th anniversaries in 2026.

UK subscribers can choose from three pricing tiers starting at £5 per month for Basic with Ads, which offers 1080p streaming of HBO shows and select Warner Bros. movies. The Standard with Ads plan at £6 per month adds theatrical releases and 30 downloads. Ad-free options include Standard (£10/month) and Premium (£15/month) plans, with the latter supporting 4K Ultra HD, Dolby Atmos, and streaming on four devices simultaneously.

Existing Sky TV customers receive HBO Basic with Ads automatically at no extra cost through an expanded partnership, while NOW Entertainment subscribers find HBO Max integrated into their app. The service also becomes the new home for TNT Sports, broadcasting Premier League matches, UEFA Champions League, MotoGP, and Tour de France events.
