At Google’s 2026 Android Show, the company previewed the Googlebook, a premium laptop line that will run the new Gemini AI framework. The design features a multicolor glowbar and a Magic Pointer that doubles as an AI shortcut. Google isn’t building the units; Acer, Asus, Dell, HP and Lenovo will ship the first models this fall.

Gemini, Google’s flagship generative AI, powers new app automation: the system can pull data from an email to assemble a shopping cart or book a ride, all through a single gesture. A forthcoming Pixel‑first tool will let creators record themselves and their screen simultaneously, simplifying “reaction” videos without a green screen for social media fans.

Security updates target spoofed bank calls, automatically terminating them, while the Mark‑as‑Lost function now demands a biometric unlock from anyone who finds the device. On‑device AI will flag apps that abuse permissions or hide icons. A revamped iOS‑to‑Android transfer will preserve home‑screen layouts wirelessly, easing the switch for users for businesses and individuals who upgrade.

Google’s rebrand of advanced AI features as Gemini Intelligence will debut on the Pixel 10 and Galaxy S26 this summer, cementing the framework’s role across devices. By tying hardware, software and AI into a unified ecosystem, the company aims to make complex multitasking feel effortless, giving consumers a consistent experience from laptop to phone everywhere in daily.
