Google is launching a new 'Video Remix' feature within Google Photos, leveraging its Gemini Omni AI model to simplify video editing. This tool allows users to transform existing videos with AI-generated edits, eliminating the need for complex software like Premiere Pro.

Users can access Video Remix through the 'Create' tab in Google Photos. The feature offers templates and the ability to apply effects such as watercolor filters, alter lighting conditions, or replace backgrounds. Google states these transformations can be processed in just a few seconds.

Gemini Omni, announced in May, is designed to understand physical forces for more realistic scene generation and supports various input types. It also enables users to insert digital avatars into videos, watermarked by Google's Synth ID. Video Remix is available today for Google AI Plus, Pro, and Ultra subscribers in the US and other select regions.
