Dell has rolled out its new 14S and 16S laptops, positioning them as the successor to the company's previous Plus lineup. These machines arrive after a tumultuous year for Dell's branding strategy, which saw the controversial elimination of the XPS name before its eventual revival at CES 2026. The new models slot in just below the flagship XPS series.

Both laptops feature Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, with configurations reaching up to the Intel Core Ultra 9 386H, delivering nearly double the multitasking performance of prior generations. AMD Ryzen AI 400 Series options will follow later this month. As Copilot+ PCs, they include dedicated AI shortcut keys and on-device processing capabilities. Display options include FHD+ panels at 400 nits or upgraded QHD+ screens with 120Hz refresh rates and Dolby Vision support.

Battery performance stands out, with the 14S achieving up to 24 hours of productivity use and the 16S reaching 26 hours for streaming tasks. The 14S weighs 3.2 pounds while the 16S comes in at 3.9 pounds. Available in Celestial Blue and Frost Blue, both models offer 16GB or 32GB memory configurations with storage ranging from 512GB to 2TB.

Pricing starts at $1,270 for the 14S and $1,320 for the 16S, making them accessible alternatives to premium ultrabooks while maintaining the performance needed for modern AI-enhanced workflows.
