Boox Go 10.3 Lumi E Ink tablet adds front light, Android 15

Boox has launched the Go 10.3 Lumi, a new E Ink tablet featuring a 10.3-inch display and Android 15 operating system. The device includes a front light for reading in various lighting conditions, addressing a major limitation of previous models that became unusable without ambient light. At 12.8 ounces and 4.8mm thin, it's lighter and slimmer than its predecessor.

Beyond the front light, the Go 10.3 Lumi runs on Android 15, a significant upgrade from the previous Android 12 version. This change is crucial since Google stopped supporting Android 12 last year, leaving older devices without critical security updates. The new OS promises improved memory management, better multitasking, and smoother UI interactions—addressing the sluggishness often associated with E Ink devices.

The tablet includes an octa-core processor, 4GB RAM, and 64GB storage, plus integrated speakers and keyboard support. While it can run most Android apps from the Google Play Store, the E Ink display isn't ideal for video content or games requiring smooth animations. The Go 10.3 Lumi is available now for $450, with a non-lit version priced at $420.
