Belkin has launched a Pro version of its Charging Case for Nintendo Switch 2, priced at $100 compared to the original $70 model. The new case features a more sophisticated battery pack with a built-in kickstand and USB-C port, allowing for seamless charging without cables. While the design remains largely similar, the Pro version includes thoughtful additions like 12 game cartridge slots and a hidden AirTag pouch for added security.

At 11.7 x 6.1 x 2.5 inches and weighing 1 pound 12 ounces, the Pro Charging Case is slightly larger and heavier than its predecessor. The included 10,000mAh battery pack offers the same capacity as before but comes with a kickstand that doubles as a charging dock. This allows users to prop up their Switch 2 for gaming while keeping it charged, eliminating the need for a separate cable. However, the awkwardly shaped battery pack is less useful as a standalone power bank.

The Pro Charging Case provides a more elegant charging solution with quality-of-life improvements like external charging ports and a battery level display. Yet, after weeks of testing, the question remains whether these conveniences justify the $30 premium. The core functionality is largely unchanged, and the battery pack's new form factor limits its versatility. For those who value streamlined design and don't mind the extra cost, the Pro version is worth considering, but most users might find the original model sufficient for their needs.
