Anker is making a serious play for the home energy market with its new Solix E10 battery backup system, positioning it as a more affordable alternative to Tesla's Powerwall. The company promises whole-home backup capabilities that can handle heavy-duty appliances like air conditioners during blackouts. The E10 stands out with its modular, stackable design that Anker claims simplifies installation enough for DIY enthusiasts.

Each unit delivers up to 37.2kW of surge power, with a 'turbo output' mode providing 10kW for 90 minutes. Two units stacked together boost that to 66kW. The system switches from grid to battery in just 20 milliseconds, making power interruptions virtually seamless.

For larger homes, you can stack up to three units for 90kWh of capacity, which Anker says could last up to 15 days. The E10 also integrates with a tri-fuel generator and handles up to 9kW of solar input. Weatherproof enclosures allow operation from -4 to 131°F.

Pricing starts at $4,299 for the base unit, with pre-orders now open.
