Apple is donating to first responders and relief efforts in Indonesia following the deadly earthquake that has left thousands displaced and triggered more than a 1,000 aftershocks.

Apple to donate to Indonesian earthquake relief

On August 16, a magnitude-7.7 earthquake struck eastern Indonesia. At the time of publication, the death toll is near 70.

Over 200 have been injured, and thousands more have been driven from their homes. [According to](https://www.reuters.com/business/environment/thousands-evacuate-after-indonesia-quake-kills-51-cuts-roads-2026-08-16/) *Reuters*, nearly 1,000 aftershocks were detected in the 24 hours following the initial strike.
