Roblox AI game creation on iPhone

Roblox is integrating AI-powered game creation directly into its mobile app, aiming to simplify the process of transforming text ideas into playable experiences without needing Roblox Studio. A public alpha of this new tool, named "Build," will launch in New Zealand on July 28, 2026. Build allows users to describe a game using natural language, and the AI will generate an initial project complete with mechanics, environments, characters, visuals, and sound.

Creators can then playtest, request modifications via chat, share with friends, or seamlessly transfer their work to the more advanced Roblox Studio. This mobile-first approach is designed to lower the barrier to entry for the platform's 132 million daily active users who may have game ideas but lack coding experience. Games created with Build that pass Roblox's safety and review processes will be available globally.

Roblox is developing further AI tools for professional creators, including bug identification and analytics assistance. While the initial rollout is limited to New Zealand and age-verified users 9 and older, the company plans a wider expansion post-alpha. A basic version of Build will be free, with paid options anticipated for advanced features.
