Apple has launched updated Mac Studio models featuring the new M5 Max and M5 Ultra processors. The M5 Max features an 18-core CPU and up to a 40-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, supporting up to 128GB unified memory and five displays. The M5 Ultra model offers up to a 36-core CPU and 80-core GPU, with 256GB or 512GB unified memory and support for eight displays.

Both configurations include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The M5 Max starts at $2,499, while the M5 Ultra begins at $5,499. Pre-orders are open, with shipping beginning September 22, 2026.

Apple maintained previous pricing but noted the M5 Ultra is $200 more than the M3 Ultra due to component cost increases. The 512GB M5 Ultra version ships later, in late October. Johny Srouji, Apple's chief hardware officer, stated the new Mac Studio delivers huge performance gains for pro workloads and AI inference.
