iOS 26.4 Beta Adds Average Bedtime to Apple Health

Apple has introduced a new Average Bedtime metric in the iOS 26.4 beta, giving iPhone users a clearer picture of their sleep patterns. The feature, part of the Sleep section in the Apple Health app, calculates when users typically go to bed based on data from the past two weeks.

This update arrives alongside other changes, including a blood oxygen graph in the Vitals section for U.S. users. The blood oxygen data had been removed from Apple Watch due to a patent dispute with Masimo but was later restored to paired iPhones in August 2025. The Average Bedtime metric complements existing sleep tracking features, providing users with more detailed insights alongside average sleep time data available since iOS 26.3.

The iOS 26.4 beta testing began Monday, suggesting Apple may continue refining health features in future updates. While the company had planned a broader Apple Health subscription service, recent reports indicate it may instead release smaller health-related features incrementally rather than as a single subscription offering.
