Black Apple Vision Pro Leak Shows Prototype Headset in Dark Colorway

New photographs have emerged showing what appears to be a black Apple Vision Pro headset, posted to X by a Hong Kong-based developer known as Pipfix or LusiRoy8. These images follow earlier May leaks of similar components and reveal additional details about the rumored dark colorway. The photos show the side grille, camera module, battery connector, and adjustment knob all finished in black. While the images appear genuine rather than AI renders, they likely represent prototype models rather than production-ready hardware.

The leaker has previously shared accurate information about iPhone 17 Pro colors, lending some credibility to these latest shots. However, several inconsistencies suggest these are early prototypes: the fabric around the visor doesn't match current models, and the battery pack appears wrapped in film. Previous images showed black speakers, and the account originally suggested the black model was 'upcoming,' though the latest post simply asks followers about their color preference.

Apple hasn't indicated plans for additional Vision Pro color options, and sales remain limited. The company's Vision Product Team is reportedly focused on smart glasses development while working toward lighter, thinner future headsets. With no new Vision Pro hardware expected before 2028 and WWDC unlikely to feature any announcements, these black prototypes probably won't reach consumers. The images demonstrate Apple's internal experimentation rather than imminent product releases.

While enthusiasts may appreciate seeing alternative designs, Apple's strategy appears centered on improving core functionality rather than aesthetic variety. The company's silence on color options suggests they're prioritizing development of next-generation hardware over cosmetic updates to existing models.
