Apple's new iPhone Handoff feature, which allows one phone number to work across two iPhones, is rolling out to more carriers but AT&T remains uninterested. While iOS 27 introduces this seamless switching capability, AT&T hasn't embraced the innovation. The carrier originally pioneered the iPhone in 2007 when Cingular (later acquired by AT&T) became the exclusive partner for the revolutionary device.

Two decades later, AT&T has not learned to support Apple's vision. 'While we see that there could be potential in capabilities like iPhone Handoff,' an AT&T spokesperson told CNET, 'our focus remains on delivering innovations that make life simpler and keep customers connected with confidence.' Instead, AT&T promotes existing eSIM activation and transfer options as alternatives. Meanwhile, T-Mobile charges $5 monthly for the feature, Deutsche Telekom requires an $8 multi-SIM add-on, and Verizon will follow suit in the US.
