Apple's 2027 Roadmap: New iPads and M7 MacBook Pro Emerge

Apple is reportedly preparing a significant refresh of its iPad Pro lineup, potentially launching four new models in spring 2027. This shift from a fall release cycle aims to balance Apple's earnings and capture spring and back-to-school purchasing windows. The iPad Pro updates are expected to be incremental, with no design changes anticipated and screen sizes remaining consistent.

Alongside the iPad Pro refresh, Apple is also said to be developing an entry-level MacBook Pro featuring the new M7 processor. This model may adopt a fresh design language previously seen in higher-end MacBook Pros. The move signals a potential push to integrate newer chips into more accessible product tiers earlier than usual.

This spring 2027 release period could become crowded, with reports also suggesting the debut of the non-Pro iPhone 18 lineup and a second-generation iPhone Air. Apple has also tested vapor chamber cooling for iPad Pro, similar to the iPhone 17 Pro, hinting at thermal management improvements. The company last updated the iPad Pro with an M5 chip in October 2025.
