Apple Wins India Antitrust Extension

The Delhi High Court has given Apple a two-month extension in India's antitrust investigation, pushing the CCI's final deadline from May 21 to July 15, 2026. The court ordered Apple to "fully cooperate" with submitting financial statements from 2022-2024, which the company has thus far refused to provide while challenging India's penalty laws that allow fines based on global turnover.

Apple faces potential penalties of $38 billion as India's antitrust authorities enforce these amended regulations. The tech giant argues the laws shouldn't apply retroactively to the 2022-2024 period. Apple had requested the entire process be suspended while it challenges the legal basis for such substantial penalties.

Separately, India continues demanding iOS source code access while Apple expands its iPhone manufacturing operations in the country. The tech giant maintains its refusal to submit audited financial statements, potentially creating significant legal exposure. The extension may provide limited time for Apple's legal challenges to proceed before compliance becomes mandatory.
