The technology promises enhanced privacy by sharing only necessary information during verification.

Digital IDs encrypt and transmit only requested data - whether name, age, or other details - without storing it on the receiving device. While convenience drives adoption, the fragmented state-by-state rollout means most users still need to carry their physical license.
